How to exercise your right to deletion, what we remove, what we may retain by law, and how long each step takes.

TravelAgent respects your right to control your personal data. This policy explains how you can request deletion of your data and what to expect during the process.
1. Your Right to Data Deletion
You have the right to request that TravelAgent delete the personal data we hold about you. This right is recognised under various data protection frameworks including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act) in India, and comparable privacy laws in other jurisdictions.
Submitting a deletion request will initiate the permanent removal of your personal data from our active systems, subject to the lawful retention obligations and exceptions described in Section 4 of this policy.
2. What Data Can Be Deleted
Upon a valid deletion request, TravelAgent will delete the following categories of personal data:
2.1 Account & Profile Data
- Name, email address, phone number, and date of birth
- Profile photo and account preferences
- Social login associations (Google, Apple, etc.)
- Saved addresses and contact details
2.2 Travel Preferences & History
- Saved travel preferences, favourite destinations, and wish lists
- Search history and browsing data associated with your account
- Travel profile settings including seat preferences, meal preferences, and accessibility requirements
2.3 Location Data
- Stored location history and GPS data associated with your account
- Location-based notification preferences
2.4 Communications & Feedback
- Customer support correspondence and chat history
- Reviews, ratings, and forum contributions (where not required for platform integrity)
- Marketing communication preferences and consent records
3. How to Submit a Deletion Request
TravelAgent provides multiple channels through which you can submit a data deletion request:
3.1 In-App Deletion (Recommended)
The fastest way to delete your data is through the TravelAgent app or website:
- Log in to your TravelAgent account
- Navigate to Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete My Account
- Review the deletion summary and confirm your request
- You will receive an email confirmation once your request is submitted
3.2 Email Request
You may submit a deletion request by sending an email to admin@humaicorp.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Please include:
- Your full name
- The email address associated with your TravelAgent account
- Your registered phone number (for identity verification)
- A brief description of the data you wish to have deleted (full account or specific data types)
3.3 Identity Verification
To protect your account from unauthorised deletion requests, TravelAgent may require you to verify your identity before processing your request. Verification may include:
- Confirming access to your registered email address via a verification link
- Confirming access to your registered phone number via an OTP
- Providing a government-issued photo ID in cases where identity cannot be confirmed through other means
4. Data We Are Required to Retain
TravelAgent is subject to various legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations that require us to retain certain data even after a deletion request. The following data may be retained after your account is deleted:
4.1 Financial & Transaction Records
Booking records, payment transactions, invoices, and refund histories are retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with financial regulations and tax laws. This data is stored in a restricted archive and is not accessible to general platform operations.
4.2 Legal & Compliance Records
Any data required to investigate or respond to fraud, legal claims, regulatory enquiries, or law enforcement requests will be retained for the duration of any active legal matter and up to the applicable statute of limitations thereafter.
4.3 Security & Fraud Prevention
Certain identifiers (such as anonymised device fingerprints or account flags) may be retained to prevent re-registration by users who have been banned for fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
4.4 Anonymised & Aggregated Data
We may retain aggregated, anonymised data derived from your usage — data from which you cannot be personally identified — for analytical, research, and product improvement purposes. This data is not subject to deletion requests.
5. Deletion Timeline & Process
Upon receiving a verified deletion request, TravelAgent will process your request according to the following timeline:
- Acknowledgement: Within 3 business days of receiving your request, we will send a confirmation email acknowledging receipt
- Identity Verification: If required, we will request identity verification within the same 3-business-day window
- Active Data Deletion: Your account and all deletable personal data will be removed from our active systems within 30 days of request verification
- Backup & Archival Purge: Data in encrypted backup systems and archival storage will be purged within 90 days in accordance with our backup rotation schedule
- Completion Notice: You will receive a final email confirming completion of your deletion request
Please note: Once your account is deleted, this action is irreversible. All active bookings, reward points, travel history, and saved preferences will be permanently lost. We strongly recommend downloading your travel history and any documents before submitting a deletion request.
6. Partial Deletion Requests
If you wish to delete only specific categories of data rather than your entire account, you may submit a partial deletion request by specifying the exact data types you wish removed. Partial deletion requests are processed as follows:
- Contact TravelAgent at admin@humaicorp.com with subject line "Partial Data Deletion Request"
- Specify the categories of data to be deleted (e.g., location data only, search history only)
- Partial deletions are completed within 30 days of identity verification
Note that certain data types are interdependent (e.g., deleting booking history may also require removal of associated payment records). Our Privacy Team will advise you of any dependencies before processing.
7. Deletion of Minors' Data
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that TravelAgent has collected personal data from a child under 13 years of age, please contact us immediately at admin@humaicorp.com. We will take prompt action to delete such data. Please include the child's name, approximate age, and any account details you have.
8. Data Portability Before Deletion
Before submitting a deletion request, you may request a copy of your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format. To do so:
- Navigate to Settings → Privacy & Data → Download My Data in the app, or
- Email admin@humaicorp.com with subject line "Data Export Request"
Data export requests are fulfilled within 30 days. Your data will be provided in a common format (such as JSON or CSV) and made available for secure download.
9. Withdrawing a Deletion Request
You may withdraw a pending deletion request at any time before it is processed. To withdraw, contact us at admin@humaicorp.com with the subject line "Withdrawal of Deletion Request" and include your account details and request reference number (provided in your acknowledgement email). Once deletion has been completed, it cannot be reversed.
10. Complaints & Escalation
If you are unsatisfied with how TravelAgent has handled your deletion request, you have the right to:
- Contact our Privacy Team directly at admin@humaicorp.com for escalation
- Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority in your jurisdiction (e.g., the Data Protection Board of India under the DPDP Act, or the relevant supervisory authority under GDPR)
